Emma's Birthday Bike

One of Emma's big scores for her birthday was a new "big girl" bike. Didn't take her long to learn to ride and she is now tearing it up!

Emma's Silly Smile, What a Spaz

She definitely takes after her mom in this one.......I am way too normal.

What's Going On?

Here is what is new in each of our lives:

1. Emma: She has officially moved up into Pre-School which is pretty exciting, more for us than her. She is struggling with drop-offs since it is a new class, with new kids, and new teachers. She will adjust but it will take time. We will also start her going 4 days instead just 3 days this coming week. Otherwise she is doing fantastically although she is going through the stage where she loves to challenge our authority! I guess that will be a life long thing, but man alive it can be frustrating. Just one more month and she will be 3!!

2. Tasha: She is doing great. She is looking great and is maintaining and has overall lost over 40 lbs. In a couple of weeks she will go back to working 5 days a week. Since Emma was born she has been working four 10 hour days but will go back to a normal schedule.

3. Chris: I can't seem to get past 49lbs! That magical 50 lbs. is just taunting me. I can only hope this coming week I can get there. I have been at 49 lbs. for a couple of weeks in a row now. Darts are fun. I am playing much better this season and right now as a team we are 4-2 and playing pretty well.

That's all I got.......

General Updates

Here are some updates:

Emma: she is doing great overall. She is in the process of transitioning into pre-school a little early. Her first day was a mixed bag but sounded like it went pretty well overall. Emma is definitely in the mode of challenging our authority and can be quite the little monster. Thankfully there are 2 of us to work with Emma.

Tasha: she just moved into her own office, out of a cubicle! Big time!! Given the current climate in banking it is nice that Tasha is still employed. She is down about 42 lbs. overall and is in maintenance mode.

Chris: dart season is back which is great. Overall I am down 49 lbs. which leaves me 6 lbs. left to get to goal. I hope this happens in the next 3 weeks. Work is humming along.

Vegas Vacation

Tasha and I spent this last weekend in Vegas with some good friends of ours. Emma spent the weekend with Nana and Aujee. We had a blast. We enjoyed the strip and ate lots of great food. We stayed at the MGM Grand which is a wonderful hotel. Tasha and Carrie did a lot of shopping and checking out Vegas. They also went to "O" which is a Cirque du Soleil show and loved it. Scott and I spent all of our time playing poker. We probably got about 24 hours of poker in during the nearly 3 days! I came out ahead but about $700 so it was a successful trip. I was down about $300 going into the last evening of poker but ended up winning about $1000 that night. Those winnings nearly paid for the hotel and airfare!

We can't wait to get back..................

Anyone Read This Still?

Does anyone still read this?

Updates

Been awhile since I have posted anything. Not a whole lot of new stuff is going on. I am in Florida right now for work but get to go home tomorrow. Was a short trip. I am down 46 lbs. now and Tasha is at 38. She is only 2 lbs. away from her goal. I have 9 lbs. left to go. Tasha and I were pretty sick this last week.....actually Tasha is still not recovered.

Emma is doing great. She is definitely going through some behavior issues, generally with just Tasha and I. Can be very frustrating sometimes but Tasha and I have a good system and we can tell when the other is getting very frustrated so we can step in before we blow a blood vessel. Just hope Emma starts to behave a little better soon. I know it is just a phase but good gosh. We are taking Emma to see Disney Live this Friday, hope she enjoys it. Will have all her favorites.

Tasha and I will be going to Vegas in a little over a week for a few days. We are going with some friends. I will hope to get some good poker in. It will be Tasha's first time in Vegas (as an adult anyway).

Darts start this next week. Can't wait. Love playing and have a great group of teammates. We should be favorites to win our division, we just need to execute. My darts are getting a lot better which is nice.

Tasha is incredibly busy at work and has found herself staying late more lately. She seems to be enjoying her job less...I hope it gets better for her. She used to love her job a ton. Fortunately she has some great co-workers to keep her going. I guess we should feel lucky that we actually have jobs.

I think that is all I have for right now.

Emma at Christmas

Our New Car

Christmas Wrap-Up

Lovely title!!

We had a great Christmas, considering the weather. We probably go about 15 inches of snow at our house and couldn't use our car for 4 days because we couldn't get up our hill. The snow is almost all gone now, thankfully.

Emma as usual was spoiled and got everything she asked for from Santa. She asked for a Tinkerbell Doll, Trains for her Thomas Train Set, and an orange hoodie with pockets and a zipper. Let me tell you that orange hoodies are hard to find during this time of year. But we did finally find one. The Tinkerbell doll was hard to find as well, finally had to get one on eBay.

We have two new additions to our family thanks to Christmas. Yesterday we went to local cat shelter and got a new cat (was Tasha's present to Emma and I). We picked a big, chilled out male named Eddie. He has quickly adjusted to our house and in the 15 hours he has been in our house seems like he has been here all along. Our other cat, Miss Miss, has been surprisingly accepting. The family gift this year was a new car. One of our cars was in need of a number repairs so it made sense to get a car now. We got a 2009 Mazda 3 Grand Touring. It is VERY sweet, fully loaded, and A BLAST to drive. It has a lot of punch and handles incredibly well. Can't wait to get it into the mountains. I will have to take some pictures to post.

Snow Keeps Coming

The snow keeps coming, maybe a foot at least in our yard. It is the most snow that Portland has seen in 40 years. And it keeps coming.....I am ready for it to be gone.
