Mountain of gifts

Emma had so many gifts that when we went around and each opened a gift, she had to open 3! The pile of gifts she had was much taller than her. Spoiled kid!!!!!

Emma got this cool car that she can either sit on or can stand and use as a walker....very cute.

Couple of changes to the blog features

I have turned on a couple of new features of the blog:

1. You can click on the little email icon just below a post if you want to email that particular post to someone.

2. I have allowed double the days to show on the main page so you can see more of Emma. Only 7 days used to show but now 14 days will show. Of course the archives are always available to see some of the very first posts.

Emma update

We are all VERY excited about celebrating Emma's first Christmas with her. She probably won't know what the heck is going on but she will have plenty of wrapping paper, boxes, and new toys to play with.

She is all over the place these days. She crawls everywhere and is pulling herself up onto everything. All she does is smile. She has 6 teeth. Occasionally she will get into moods where all she will do is scream (especially nice in a restaurant).

She is trying all sorts of foods. In addition to some fun baby foods she has had the following: pancakes, french fries, cole slaw, lemon, turkey curry soup, apricot jam, jam on toast, scrambled egg, hashbrown, stuffing, mashed potatoes, lettuce, radish, red cabbage, different varieties of bread, yogurt.......I am sure she has some other things but that is what I can think of.

Emma is 8 months old today!!

I'd say give her a call on her cell phone but she isn't quite there yet!

Jr (chris) on jury duty

I am on jury duty. Was selected to be on a jury for a criminal trial. Spent all day at the court house today hearing testimony. Tomorrow we will decided the fate of the defendant. I will post specifics if anyone cares once the trial is over.

Emma now has 6 teeth!! 3 on top and 3 on the bottom. She has had four teeth for a little while but all of the sudden 2 more appeared. That has made her a little crabbier than normal however!

WE HAVE A STREET

For all of you who have listened to Tasha and I bitch and moan about not having a street in front of our house, well, yesterday they put one in! We have lived in our house for two years with gravel for a street. HURRRRAAAAYYYYYYY

Emma and Santa

Emma did pretty good with Santa. We were only able to get one picture where she didn't look sad. It was very cute and she had the opportunity to hang out with Santa while the pictures were printing.

What is new with Emma?

She is crawling all over the place and climbing up onto things so that she is standing up. We even find her standing in her crib when we go to get her. Very cute. We will be installing more gates this weekend since she is crawling more and faster. Sometimes she will practice standing up without holding onto anything. She has stood on her own for as long as 10 seconds. She will be going to see Santa sometime later this week. She took her first bubble bath last night.

Just minutes ago, Emma pulled herself up from the floor to the standing position using her little play table she has. She is growing up so quickly........tomorrow we begin the college search! Aren't I funny?

New things with Emma

Two things happened this week with Emma that are pretty cool:

1. She learned how to give "high five".
2. She had her bangs trimmed. They were getting out of control so they got trimmed. We will hopefully post pictures soon.

Emma loves to give kisses

Emma will give kisses now. You say "give me kiss" and lean towards her and she will lean towards you and give you a kiss. She is still learning and her kisses are a little sloppy but it sure is cute.

My mom on TV

We were watching TV and all of the sudden, there was my mom!!!!!! Not really but this woman is IDENTICAL. Mom, I didn't know you had a twin out there! 

Emma eating on her own

Emma is able to sit in her high chair and pick up little "cheerios" type things and put them into her mouth. She is successful about half the time. It is nice to have her sit at the dinning room table and feed herself while we eat.

Emma is crawling

On Saturday Emma crawled for the first time. Prior the Saturday she would lunge for things but now has discovered crawling. She hasn't figured it out that she can crawl just to get around but more as a way to get things she wants (dog, paper sack). Once she figures out that she can just crawl to get around we are in trouble.
