Impressions of Florida

Here are some observations I have made in my brief time so far in Florida:

1. There are lots of old people here, there is no exaggeration of that fact!
2. They love dog racing
3. They love Buick Rendezvous's...must be the old people
4. They drive really slow
5. Service at restaurants is VERY slow
6. There are lots of red necks

Emma's 9 month stats

Hello all,

Emma went in for her 9 month check up today. The doctor continues to be wowed by Emma and said today that we should get Emma patented since she is so perfect and developed. He couldn't say enough about her eyes. She weighed in at a healthy 24lbs 11oz which puts her in the 97th percentile. She is slowing in height and measured in at 29 inches which is in the 86th percentile. I guess we will have to stretch her!

She is walking like a mad woman although she still looks like a drunken sailor but is getting better with each day.

HOLY SHITTERS FULL

Sorry for the use of "shitter" in the title of this post but I couldn't find a better way to describe the excitement I am feeling right now!

I set a VERY lofty goal for my staff in terms of how many new students we should bring in this Spring semester, which just started this week. The goal I set was 40, our previous record I believe was 30. So that is a huge increase for a school our size. My staff so far has brought in 42 new students!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a chance for one or two more!

I made the promise if they met this goal I would purchase them each a $100 gift certificate to the place of their choice, I have four staff members, I guess that means I am out $400.

HOLY SHITTERS FULL.................................

Someone should shoot the early bird

I arrived early to work again today, although a little later than usual due to the extremely slow travel conditions. And of course, after being here for about an hour and a half they decided to cancel classes. Guess I will stay here until Tasha can get off then we will go pick up Emma. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Emma walking short distances

Emma has been walking with her car walker thing that we bought her for Christmas. She walks up and down the hall...over and over and over and over and over and over and over without the ability to turn the car around. So Tasha or I (Tasha in most cases) has to turn her around so she can go the other way.

BUT....this evening, Tasha and I would sit facing each other with a couple of feet between us. Emma would walk back and forth (maybe a total of 6-8 feet). She is still pretty wobbly but I bet she will be walking VERY soon.

Snow Day

Pictures of Emma outside in her first major snow!!

Emma's new bangs

Tasha trimmed Emma's bangs yesterday since they were getting out of control. I didn't think she could get any cuter, but she did!!!!

Early bird doesn't get the worm

I went into work at 6am this morning trying to be a good little worker. 2 hours later the school shut down due to snow. So, I had to brave the roads and Portland drivers to make it home. It was a slow drive but I made it. Portland State closed as well so I don't have class today. This means I get to spend the day with Tasha and Emma!!!!!!!!!

Snow day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some pictures I took from our front door.....

W'ud Up?

Not much new is happening in our neck of the woods. Emma goes in for her 9 month check up next Tuesday so we will have some new stats to report then. She is doing great and an amazing joy to be around. She does nothing but smile (unless she is hungry or tired). She is all over the place.

Today was/is supposed to be a big winter storm, haven't seen much yet. But that is Portland for you, they predict these big winter storms and all we get is more rain and some wind.

Tasha has jury duty! She was selected for a trial that started yesterday and is likely to go through tomorrow. It is a civil trial so not as cool as my criminal trial a few weeks ago.

If you read this just have good thoughts about the Bears and pray that Rex Grossman doesn't screw things up like he tends to do and the Bears win!

What are you looking at???

Would you like to step outside?

Close-ups from new kitchen

These are some close-ups of the new faucet, slate border, and tiles. We also put new handles on our kitchen doors, seen in the last post.

We also had some "rainforest" marbel installed around our fireplace. I need to take pictures of that to post.

Our new kitchen

As our Christmas gift to each other, Tasha and I remodeled our kitchen. We had new countertops along with a new faucet installed (I actually did the faucet!). The countertops are porcelin tile and there is a slate border. We love our new kitchen. Jessie was a huge help in helping to make this happen!

I will post more pictures soon.
