Vegas

Spent four days in Vegas. Had a lot of fun. Played in 3 poker tournaments and played at the final table in one of them. Didn't cash at all but had a blast. We played at Sahara, Haraha's, and The Venetian.

Updates, mostly about Emma

Emma has reached another development milestone. During the last week she has mastered getting up from the ground into a standing position on her own. We think she learned it while at school.

School is going great for Emma. She doesn't nap great but seems to be having fun and learning tons. The little reports we get each day when we pick her up are a crack up. They document all of her meals....diaper changes, naps, etc....but the funny part is the description of what she did for the day. It might say something like "Emma had a great day, she had fun rocking on the horse and using the shape sorter. She also had fun singing and dancing".

Emma got a new, big ball at home which she loves. Her favorite is when you bounce it, when you do she comes running at you to get the ball. She kicks it all over the place.

Postings from me might slow over the next week or so. I will be in Vegas with some of my friends and I am sure you don't want to hear about what we are doing. I might post something if I win big in any of the poker tournaments I will be playing in.

Emma has a new friend

Grandma Sharon gave Emma a teddy bear that is nearly as big as she is. It is very funny to watch her try and walk with it.

Aunt Jessie bought Emma a new ladybug backpack that she can use for school. All the kids will be jealous.

Emma has been sick

Poor little Emma is dealing with her first real sickness. She has had a cold for about a week now. The last couple of days have been the worst for her. Between coughing and a runny nose it is tough for her to nap or sleep.

Taking over the art world

I am sure that posts about how my work is going are not the most exciting and you would prefer to see pictures of Emma but I need every opportunity to SHOUT about how much butt we are kicking.

Yesterday (March 1st) was our scholarship deadline. We met our application goal for the entire year yesterday. The goal was 390 and this morning we are at 401. And we still have 6 months to go! Last year was the record year with 385 applications. I expect that we will get another 100 applications before all is said and done. That would put us at 500 or more....HOLY COW.

I hope to post more pictures of Emma this weekend. She is at school today for her second day. Will know more later when I pick her up.
