Snow Keeps Coming

The snow keeps coming, maybe a foot at least in our yard. It is the most snow that Portland has seen in 40 years. And it keeps coming.....I am ready for it to be gone.

Crazy last week we have had. Lots of cold and snow. Today is the worst of it with an expected 8-10 inches of snow and the city has shut down. We can't get anywhere........

Stuff

I lost just over one pound this week so am down a little over 39 total. Tasha lost another .5 pound and is down nearly 34 total!

Dart season ended last night and unfortunately we lost in the championship match. We finished 11-2 overall and placed 2nd in the playoffs. A great year. Oddly, we lost our first match and then our last match, both to the same team. Can't wait for spring season where we should be the favorites to win it all.

Emma is getting very excited for Christmas. This is the first Christmas where she knows what is going on and is getting into it. Can't wait for her to open her gifts and be excited about what Santa brought her. Plus my Aunt Luci from California is coming up so that will be great to see her!!!!

Darts and Weight

Last night we won our semi-final match and will be playing for the B league championship this coming Thursday! Pretty exciting. The team we are playing we split with during the regular season. They were our only loss of the year and it was in the first match of the year. Should be a great match and it would be incredible to be crowned champions. Win or lose it will have been an incredible season. Right now we are 11-1.

Today was weigh-in day. I lost 2 lbs. and am down 38 overall, Tasha lost another pound and is down 33 lbs. overall. Once we have both reached 35 lbs. we will enjoy a lovely dinner and eat things we don't normally eat. Tasha has only 7 lbs. to meet her goal and I have 17 more to go.

Updates

Today was weigh-in day....I lost 4 lbs this week and Tasha lost 1 lb this week. I am down 36 overall and Tasha is down 32 overall!!

We won our first round of playoffs last night in darts so it is onto the semi-finals this coming week!!!

Friday Weigh-in and Darts

Tasha and I had our Friday morning weigh-ins. She lost another pound and I somehow lost 5lbs! Tasha is down either 27 or 28 lbs. total and I am down 33 lbs.

We crushed our opponent in darts last night again, 21-8. We ended the regular season winning 9 matches in a row. Playoffs start in 2 weeks and we will go in as the top seed.

Emma, Potty Trained

It seemed as though it has happened over night, but Emma is pretty much, fully potty trained. Last night for the first time she wore big girl underwear to bed and woke up in the middle of the night and went potty. No accidents in bed!! She has been wearing big girl underwear to school for the last 2-3 weeks. She is amazing.....

Weight Loss Update

Today was weigh-in day. Tasha lost 1.5 lbs this week and so did I. Overall Tasha is down 26.5 lbs. and I am down 28. Combined we are down 54.5 lbs!!!!!!

OH...my dart team won again last night, convincingly 22-7. We have one last week before playoffs. We have won 8 matches in a row and are now 8-1 and should be 9-1 heading into the playoffs.

Night With Aujee and Updates

Emma spent most of last Saturday with Aujee (Jessie) while Tasha and I went to a Metallica concert. These are pictures from their evening. We also had our "we have both lost 20 lbs." meal. Right now I am down about 27 lbs. and Tasha is down almost 25 lbs.

Tasha sprained her ankle at work on Thursday and is on crutches! She said she didn't realize her foot was asleep and she began walking. And I am the Polish one????

I was at a conference a better part of the last week. It was the annual conference for the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. I was on the committee....it was a great conference. I was roped into being on the planning committee for the upcoming Oregon Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (OrACRAO) conference that will be in May. I was even asked if I would be interested in serving as President of OrACRAO for the 2010-2011 year. We will see where that goes.

Emma, Growing Up

We hit a milestone this week, Emma went to school in her "big girl panties" instead of pull-ups for the first time. Sounds like she had a good day with no pull-ups at school. She also has decided that a booster seat isn't necessary anymore and is just sitting on the regular chair at the dining room table for meals.

Before you know it, she will be off to college.

Ups and Downs of Weight Loss

Had my first bad week as far as losing weight goes. I gained a pound. Not sure what happened, I didn't eat bad at all this week. I will have to have a great week this week! Tasha lost another pound!!!

Tonight is trick-or-treating, Emma is dressing as Abby Cadabby (a fair godmother in training). I will post pics in the next day or two.

Darts and Diet

As a short update, today was weight-in day for Tasha and I. She lost another 2 lbs. and I lost about 4.5 lbs. Tasha is down 20 and I am down 26 overall......

Last night was a huge dart match-up. We are in second place and we were playing the first place team who mopped us up the first match of the season. So if we wanted any chance of winning our division we had to win. They had rolled through the first half of the season and didn't have any close matches. That ended last night as we crushed them 19-10! We actually clinched the match after the first round of cricket singles, and were up 16-3 at that point. They are still technically in first place because they have scored more points but there is a chance we could overtake them if we win our next 4 matches convincingly.

Weight Watchers Update

Friday is weigh-in day. I am down another 2.6 lbs. and Tasha is down another 3 lbs. Overall I am down almost 22 and Tasha is down 18, combined we are down 40. We started about a month ago!!

Weight Watchers, Shedding the Pounds

Tasha and I have been doing weight watchers for the last 4 weeks. So far the results have been very positive. My Aunt Luci has had great success on weight watchers and Tasha has had success with it before so went for it.

Between the two of us we are down around 34 lbs. combined. I am down 19 and Tasha is down 15 (I believe). I have a goal of 50 lbs., or more depending on how I feel when I reach my goal.

Long time.....updates

Hey all......

It has been awhile since I have posted anything. Sorry about that. Here is what is new:

Emma: She is plugging along and is definitely a little girl now. She talks like she is a grown up, has an incredible understanding of most anything you say or ask. She loves to sing songs and knows many of them. Her favorite teacher left so she is adjusting to a new teacher. That has been the struggle with her school, she gets comfy and falls in love with a teacher and they leave. But she has been a trooper about it. Her teachers always talk about how funny Emma is and how she loves to sing in school. She is still sleeping on the floor....but at least she is sleeping.

Tasha: Doing great. Liking her new boss and liking her job (she was promoted a few months ago). She is again doing Weight Watchers (with me) and lost about 11 lbs in the last two weeks. She has coordinated a couple of parties to make a little money on the side. One big thing is she recently had Lasik eye surgery and is seeing perfectly without contacts or eye glasses. She wore glasses for 25 years so it has been a big change!!

Me: Pluggin along. Was in Montana recently for work and will be up in Alaska this coming weekend. Will get to see some friends up there. I have also lost almost 11 lbs during the last two weeks doing Weight Watchers. It has been a great diet and hasn't been that tough. I am hoping to lose about 50 lbs total. Fall dart season has started up again so that is keeping me busy on Thursday nights. Had another great year at work and once again brought in a record size class.

Went to the Polish fest today...was a blast.

I will try and get some new pictures up in the next couple of days.

Emma did her first somersault tonight on her own. She was watching the Olympics and gymnastics was on. She would run up the hall and jump (that was her vault) and then she would do circles on the ground and a somersault (that was her floor routine). Then we would hold her up by her hands and she would move her feet (that was her on the rings). She has also gotten on the couch and acted like she is swimming after watching swimming on the Olympics.

Pretty darn funny..........

She has grown an inch in just the last couple of months and now stands a little over 37 inches tall!! The kid is barely 2 years old and she is that tall!

.....and PNCA is Over 500 Students

When I was hired I was told we needed to have an enrollment of 500 students by Fall 2009. Well, at the end of the day yesterday our registrar informed me we had enrolled our 500th student for the upcoming fall. A whole year early!

PNCA is Wait Listing

Today, the school I work for, has instituted its first ever wait list. Although a lot of schools do this, PNCA has long struggled to bring in students. But the last 3 years, especially the last 2, have brought in record numbers of students and we are near capacity. I have never been in this situation and it feels great! Every school I have worked for has been in an aggressive growth mode and took every student that was admitted. PNCA is in a similar situation but the number of students interested in PNCA the last two years has been beyond anything imaginable.

Many of you who are reading this know that my Grandfather Sweet, Boompa, died late this last week. He was an incredible man and the top dog in the Sweet family for all my life. I have lost another one of my heroes.
