Memorial Day at Cathedral Park

We spent the day at Cathedral Park for a Memorial Day picnic. The park is located at the base of the St. John's bridge which is my favorite of the Portland bridges. Today's picnic was enjoyed by Jessie, Nana, Tasha, Emma, and I.

Some pictures from a recent trip to California. The top picture is of me in the back, Jessie, Boompa, and cousin Mickey in the front. The bottom picture is of my uncle Steve, Boompa, and my lovely aunt Luci.

Emma updates

Emma is learning lots of cool and cute things, here are a couple of recent ones:

1. She now helps to pick up her toys each night. She will occasionally get distracted and start playing with a toy she is putting away but she does pretty good.

2. She knows "love" in sign language. You can say "I love you" in sign language to her and she will respond. In the car this morning she heard the word "love" on the radio and made the sign. Very cute.

Our marketing folks had to take a head shot of me for an article I wrote for the Pacific Northwest Association of College Admissions Counselors. The newsletter is not yet out. I will post the link to the article once it has been published. I hate head shots.......

Nice trip to Cali

Had a very nice trip down to California. Cousin Mickey drove down from Olympia and joined Jessie for the flight down. As a family we need to stop having to see each other due to a death in the family. Will be nice in August when we go down for a mini "Rendezvous".

Luci and Joe were very kind to provide a place for us to stay. It was a blast. We ate great food and had plenty of drink. We had a lovely day with Boompa that included 2 desserts after an amazing lunch.

I hope to post pictures in the next day or two.

Mother's Day with the Family

We had a lovely Mother's Day at Great Grandma Forkner's/Baba's house. Uncle Dean prepared some wonderfuls salmon that was followed by a yummy dessert and gifts. Emma got to lick her first beater after whipping up some whip cream.

Another Day Downtown

We took advantage of the weather and went for a walk downtown. We had lunch at Saturday Market and had one of the street vendors make Emma a flower baloon (as seen in the picture). We then headed to Pioneer Square for a little coffee and watched Emma chase the pigeons around.
